Footbridge across the I/66 road

Brezno, Slovakia
Implementation 2018
We are the authors of the concept for the footbridge and all subsequent stages of the project documentation for the construction permit (DÚR, DSP) and the tender documentation (DRS). We also prepared the implementation documentation (DVP) for the contractor.

The footbridge serves pedestrians and cyclists as a crossing over the Brezno bypass on road I/66, connecting the city centre with the residential district of Mazorníkovo. The bridge is composed of a thin deck slab with a constant thickness of 0.50 meters, suspended on steel pylons in the main and adjacent spans. At the northern end, the bridge descends to the terrain via a circular ramp supported by slender steel pillars. The bridge within the urban area is equipped with lighting embedded in the handrails, which significantly enhances the aesthetic of the city’s roundabout. Its subtle modern design with rounded shapes greatly contributes to the overall appearance of the space.
