The footbridge for pedestrians and cyclists connects the town centre with Fügnerovo nábřeží Street and stands on the site of the original riveted truss footbridge from the beginning of the 20th century. Restrictions on the right bank due to limited space, the railway protection zone and the presence of a long-distance water pipeline led to the design of a single-span structure fixed to the opposite bank. The structure consists of slender steel parapet girders of variable height from 0.60 to 1.35 m with a timber deck of minimum design height. The pedestrian space is unified by the wooden cladding on the inside of the girders, complemented by indirect LED lighting. The dynamic behaviour of the structure, due to its slenderness and lightness, required the installation of a vibration damper.
